The Bible, consisting of the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament, is the God-breathed, inspired Word of God. It is God’s gracious self-disclosure to man, written by human authors as they were inspired and carried along by the Holy Spirit. It is authoritative, clear, necessary, sufficient, trustworthy, and complete in its revelation of God’s revealed truth regarding salvation. It is without error in the original writings and is the final authority for life, faith, and the Church. We are to believe all that it teaches, observe and obey all that it requires, and trustfully hope in all that it promises.
Key Texts: 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, Matthew 5:17-18, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, John 16:12-13
