The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and Lord of all. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and lived an altogether sinless and holy life. He was crucified, buried, and rose again on the third day. He was the promised Messiah of Israel, fulfilling the righteous requirement of the law while giving full expression to God’s grace, mercy, and love. By His sacrifice He has redeemed all who trust in Him, receiving God’s wrath against sin in their place. Today He is exalted and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, having ascended to heaven, from which He will one day come again. Fully God and fully man, He is the mediator of the New Covenant between God and man. He is our Great High Priest, and is our Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate before the Father. He is the head of His body, the Church, and is worthy to receive the love, service, and obedience of all.
